It was a 12 hour drive from Marseille to Paris, 2 hour train from Paris to Rouen, 9 hour cargo ride on Le Seine River from Rouen to Le Havre, 8 days at sea from Le Havre to St. Maartin, 12 hours in St. Maartin. 2 days from St. Maartin to Trinidad and Tobago, 1 hour spent in Trinidad and Tobago. 3 days from Trinidad and Tobago to Cayenne, Guyanne Francais, 5 days spent in Cayenne (the jungle that sits on the equator..) on the boat not moving. 2 days from Cayenne to Belem. Remember* the time is changed every other day on the boat due to the speed and the advancement of distance. Kicked out of Belem and asked to leave within 3 days. Didn’t sleep for 3 days.Terrified of being put in jail. A flight from Belem to Martinique (we forget how incredible it is to fly. I couldn’t believe the sensation after having spent 3 weeks at sea). 10 days driving around Martinique (not so much sleep after the boat). Flight from Martinique to Paris. Paris one day. Drove from Paris to Angouleme (7 hours?). Arrived in Angouleme, slept for a few hours and awoke to the brilliant idea of going for a run. 15 minutes amongst the vinyards I stopped and threw up.
My body had absolutely no idea what time it was.
